Hilton & Marriott Hotels Provide Free Rooms For Medical Workers Amid COVID-19 Crisis

With vacancies nearing 80 percent, the Four Seasons, Hilton, and Marriott hotels are lending a hand and providing free rooms for medical workers responding the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

While Four Seasons has been catering to healthcare workers since April 2, Marriott is now donating $10 million in hotel stays in NYC, Newark, NJ, New Orleans, LA, Los Angeles and more. Plus, Hilton and American Express are donating 1 million hotel rooms to doctors, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and other essential workers, as of Monday (Apr 13) through the end of May.

Hilton’s President and CEO Christopher Nassetta stated, “They truly are heroes. We are honored to extend our Hilton hospitality to them during this difficult time. Responding to the generosity, William Jaquis, President of the American College of Emergency Physicians, says, “Knowing that there is a safe, clean and comfortable hotel room waiting for you at the end of a long shift can make all the difference in the world right now.”

Furthermore, Marriott is also allowing customers who’ve racked up reward points to donate them to various relief agencies like: World Central Kitchen; Unicef; the American Red Cross; and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
