Heartbreaking news: four kids are now without their beloved mother following a tragic gym accident.

Delrie Rosario, 36, was in the middle of working out last Friday with her sister when the tragedy occurred at a local gym in Kent, Washington. Rosario fell and hit her head while running on a treadmill at an LA Fitness and became unconscious.

While speaking with KIRO7, her sister Marissa Woods gave more details about the tragedy. Recalling the moment, Woods said Rosario tried to slow the machine down to stop. “I thought maybe she just missed a step. She just collapsed, [and] hit her head on the machine,” said Woods. “I was screaming, you know, ‘anybody, just please help! Anybody know how to do CPR?” None of the employees rushed to help but other gym-goers jumped into action. “Not one worker,” said Woods. “I think they were in shock.” Sadly, Rosario later died at a local hospital.

Woods said her sister leaves behind four kids, who she always out first and even worked two jobs to support them. “A mother first. Always everything she did was for kids. She worked so hard for kids,” Woods told the outlet.

As heartbroken as the family is, they say they’ve also found some peace knowing that Rosario is an organ donor and doctors informed them that her donation can now help save five lives. “Five people, literally like right now! She’s saving lives. How big can your heart be to still be saving lives?” said Woods. “Just think, somebody’s walking around…with her big heart. They don’t even know what heart they’re about to get.”

This latest incident comes amid the news of bodybuilder Justyn Vicky, who broke his neck and died during a freak squat accident at the gym.

More On Gym Incidents

When it comes to assessing the likelihood of freak accidents at the gym, it is important to consider various factors that contribute to safety measures and risk management. While accidents can happen anywhere, including the gym, it is crucial to understand that gyms are designed with safety in mind.

Gyms typically have trained staff members who ensure proper equipment maintenance, enforce safety protocols, and provide guidance on using machines and weights correctly. Additionally, most gyms require members to undergo an orientation or induction process to familiarize themselves with the facilities and equipment.

While freak accidents can never be completely ruled out in any environment, the likelihood of such incidents occurring at a well-maintained gym with responsible management is relatively low
