The incident took place at the 7 Floors of Hell Haunted House at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds on September 18  around 8 p.m. when the boy was walking with his family. While exploring the attraction, an actor tried to scrape the ground with a bowie knife near the boy’s feet as a way to scare him. Unfortunately, the worker ended up stabbing his shoe.

According to Insider, all haunted house employees were given fake props to use but the actor decided to use a real knife instead. During the 911 call, the boy’s mother noted that the knife was rusty and there was no bleeding.

“One of the workers is walking around with a real knife, and my son was stabbed. It’s not bleeding bad…the knife is very rusty and doesn’t look sanitary.”

Staff at the haunted house provided medical assistance after the family declined to go to the hospital. The actor also explained to police that the stabbing was an accident and he had no intentions on hurting the child.

Charges were not filed against the worker.
