Harvey Weinstein Slapped With Another Sexual Assault Count

Yesterday (Apr 9),  we reported that ex-movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was placed on suicide watch after recovering from coronavirus. Now, he’s been slapped with another sexual assault count.

While Weinstein awaits extradition from New York to Los Angeles, where he’ll face four other charges from two hotel room incidents in February 2013, Variety reports that on Friday (Apr 10), LA prosecutors filed a new charge, stemming from an alleged assault at a Beverly Hills hotel room in 2010.

His latest charges accuse him of “sexual battery by restraint” by a woman who was first interviewed by detectives in October 2019, and now has evidence to support her claims. The charge carries a potential sentence of four years in prison, creating a theoretical maximum of 32 years for his Los Angeles charges.

Currently the disgraced producer is serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault for his New York charges, at a prison near Buffalo.

It’s reported that the D.A.’s office is looking into two other allegations, but have declined to officially file charges as the victims refuse to testify.
