A Missouri hairstylist who worked while present symptoms of the coronavirus have exposed 91 people at a hair salon.

State health officials have issued a warning to the public after the hairstylist has exposed 91 people to the virus at a Great Clips hair salon in Springfield earlier this month. Springfield-Greene County Health Department Director Clay Goddard made the announcement Friday and expressed his disappointment. He said during a briefing that the hairstylist continued to work despite experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and 84 of her clients received a hair cut between May 12 and May 20. Seven employees of the hair salon were also exposed to the virus.

Goddard said “We hope this is an overly cautious approach as thankfully both our case and all the clients of our case were wearing masks during their haircuts,”
