Greg Mcmichael’s Lawyer Says Ahmaud Arbery’s Actions Are To Blame For His Own Death, ‘Wasn’t Innocent Victim’
As the closing arguments from the defense and prosecution were underway Monday in the death of Ahmaud Arbery, Greg Mcmichael’s attorney went on to suggest that Arbery was partially to blame for his death.
Despite, evidence that proved Arbery had nothing to do with alleged burglaries in the area, and that he a young black man on a jog, was chased down and hunted in a car by three white men, Mcmichael’s lawyer said Arbery “wasn’t an innocent victim.”
Laura Hogue claimed Arbery was a “recurring nighttime intruder,” insinuating that if he had not run, he could be alive.
“No one but Ahmaud Arbery made the decision to reach for or give the impression he was reaching for a handgun… and no one but Ahmaud Arbery made the decision not to stop when Travis’ truck rolled up beside him,” Hogue said to jurors.
Ahmaud Arbery is not on trial. He was stalked and killed.

In addition, defense attorney Kevin Gough made another failed attempt to move to a mistrial claiming the “the Black Panther group,” and activists outside “people claiming to be violent … with semiautomatic weapons … This is a literal mob.”
