Google Searches For ‘Move To Canada’ Spike After Trump Vs. Biden Debate

After Tuesday night’s hard-to-watch Trump vs. Biden debate, millions of citizens across the U.S. are ready to pack up and “move to Canada,” so says a recent spike in Google searches.

If you can’t choose between Donald Trump or Joe Biden, people figured a third option would be to flee north to Canada. Shortly after the debate, traffic surged to the site with searches then dipping overnight, and skyrocketing back again the morning as Americans woke up from an unforgettable night.

In addition to queries including “how to apply for Canadian citizenship,” Americans in Massachusetts, Vermont, Washington, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio were among those curious about making the move. While Google’s data doesn’t show the overall number of searches, it does show that the relative volume of search traffic spiked for these queries. #Socialites, are you thinking about the move too?
