‘GMA’ Producers Reportedly Considering Permanent Replacements For T.J. Holmes And Amy Robach After Pair Were Taken Off Air

Producers at “Good Morning America” are said to be searching for permanent replacements who can fill Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ positions in case executives decide not to bring the pair back after being taken off air last month.

As previously reported, the pair made headlines in November after reports of their affair came out. The controversial part about their relationship was that both news anchors were still married at the time that their romance first started. Sources claimed that ABC execs were not happy about the negative attention the network received in light of Robach and Holmes’ secret relationship unfolding in the media.

And while taking the pair off air was only supposed to be a temporary move in the hopes that the scandal would die down, according to Radar Online, producers are still open to the idea of bringing in new talent to the show and subsequently letting Robach and Holmes go. Two people who’ve names have come up during talks of replacing the two are Jenna Bush Hager and Carson Daly, who insiders say is “underrated and underused” over on the “TODAY” show.

Two people who’ve names have come up during talks of replacing the two are Jenna Bush Hager and Carson Daly, who insiders say is “underrated and underused” over on the “TODAY” show. “It would be a step up for Jenna — she’s extremely ambitious — and word is Carson’s ready for a change,” the source added.

“T.J. and Amy’s situation creates a big headache and bosses have an even bigger task — they’ve got to discreetly find out which talent is logistically poachable while weighting the best potential fit. But first, ABC has to decide what to do with Amy and T.J.”

It’s further alleged that several staff members have complained about the network’s decision not to fire Holmes considering how he allegedly not only had an affair with Robach but two other colleagues at “GMA.”

But the network has opted not to rush into any decisions since an ongoing investigation is being performed to determine whether Holmes broke the company’s policies by allegedly having an intimate relationship with multiple co-workers.

Kim Goodwin, who is the president of ABC News, sent a message to employees last month acknowledging that both Robach and T.J. would not be returning to their jobs for the time being amid the controversy.

“I want to take a moment to address the ongoing matter involving GMA3 anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach. I understand that the continuing coverage can be distracting from the incredibly important work our team does here at ABC News,” he wrote.

“Amy and T.J. will remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review, and there will be a rotation of anchors at GMA3 for the time being. It is my hope that we will continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism.”
