According to WSB-TV, Kawana Jenkins, 36, was arrested shortly after the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office fired her for inappropriate sexual behavior with an inmate. Jenkins and the inmate were filmed performing sexually explicit acts, which went viral on social media. As per officials, the video was captured on a contraband cell phone. Jenkins was hired in 2019 by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

She has been charged with two counts of improper sexual contact by an employee or agent, five counts of violation of oath by a public officer, two counts of reckless conduct, two counts of cruelty to inmates, and one count of giving an inmate a prohibited item without authorization.

Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat said in a statement that Jenkins’ actions are not a reflection of the department as a whole:

“As Sheriff of Fulton County, I am committed to transparency and to holding each and every employee accountable to oath they have taken to protect and serve our community. The actions of this one individual are certainly not a reflection of the men and women of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. The vast majority of employees are to be commended for their integrity, commitment to service and the work they do day in and day out.”

In the video, Jenkins is seen sitting in a chair while wearing her uniform when a man’s finger appears in the frame. Seconds later, she simulates a sexual act on his finger, and the video cuts off shortly after. Other sources said the phone was confiscated during a routine shakedown.

After the video went viral on social media, Twitter users had a lot to say about the situation, as there are other familiar situations involving female detention officers and male inmates. One user wrote, “Going out sad, letting them inmates manipulate tf out you.” Another said in a quote tweet, “all the free c*ck in the world and you choosing an inmate, lmfao now what?”
