On Sunday (February 8), the 2026 Super Bowl took place in Santa Clara, California with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots going head-to-head for the famed Vince Lombardi Trophy. By the end of the game, the Seahawks won 29-13, earning a second sterling silver award and dubbing them two-time Super Bowl champions.

Before the end of the 60th Super Bowl, Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, took to the Halftime Show stage. During his iconic and historic halftime set, Bad Bunny brought out fellow superstar singers Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.

Benito’s entire 13-minute performance was full of color and details paying homage to his native, Puerto Rico. He had tons of messages about identity, pride, and independence. Bad Bunny made history becoming the first Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner to perform in nearly entirely in Spanish.

In addition to the homage to his homeland, the Reggaetonero also shared dense symbolism and messages of resistance amid the current political climate in the United States of America, amid President Donald Trump‘s ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) crackdowns. Notably, there was a message across the Levi’s Stadium billboard that read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” He also held a football with a message that read, “Together, we are America.”

Lewis Hamilton, who has a Black father of Afro-Grenadian descent and White British mother, praises Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny after his Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. While taking to his Instagram Story on Monday (February 9), Hamilton reposted an article that read, “Bad Bunny’s halftime show was loaded with cultural storytelling and symbolism.” He captioned the post, “Incredible show. A privilege to have witnessed 👏🏾.”

Hamilton also showed himself in a navy blue jacket that displayed the following message on the back: “Freedom belongs to all.” The F1 driver captioned the post and said, “Freedom belongs to all. Designed with intention by Willy Chavarria.” In another IG Story, he wrote:

“Still on this. That was one of THE most important Super Bowl half time shows in history. In a world and a country led by people whose only goal is to encourage division, we witnessed an artist stand amongst a diverse group of people, on the same level, with a message of togetherness. It gave me goosebumps.

I have the highest respect for Benito and this show he put on. A show that wasn’t about himself, but about the people. I’m truly so inspired. I don’t speak Spanish, but his message of unity resonated deeply. Seeing the Grenada flag made me feel instantly connected. My family is from there. The Caribbean is home. Like he said, the only thing more powerful than hate is love 🙌🏾.”
