Former NBA Player Delonte West Opens Up About Sobriety As He Celebrates 10 Months Sober
On January 8, 2026, it was reported that West was 30 days sober. On March 25, 2026, he confirmed his sobriety journey. In a video, he announced that he was 100 days sober after a string of arrests and viral videos shared by concerned bystanders.
In the video, West said, “We out here in Florida. Uber just pulled up. Cadillac. We out here with Wellness Fitness & Performance. They got me right and tight. Today, I’m 100 days sober.” The former NBA guard’s sobriety arrives after a string of arrests and viral videos shared by concerned bystanders.

Since at least 2019, fans have seen his public battles with mental health and substance abuse. However, West is now on the journey of bettering himself and his health. By September 2026, West opened up about his journey from addiction to sobriety.
While appearing on Kevin Lanning’s ‘Rise Above’ podcast last week, West reflected on his NBA career as a once promising first-round draft pick. He talked about his mental health struggles, addiction, sobriety programs, and more. He also reflected on gateway substances, like marijuana, and how his addiction progressed into other harder drugs.

Former NBA Player Delonte West Is 10 Months Sober And Has New Teeth, Reveals He Got Dental Implants
In the days following West’s interview, he revealed he got a new smile. On Tuesday (September 22), West took to his Instagram and went live to tell fans. He showed off his new pearly whites as he stood outside a dental office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Before the live showing off his new teeth, West also went live to show off the metal screws in his gums. While waiting to finish the procedure, West told fans he was debating whether to get natural white dental implants or bright white. West continued to share additional posts to his feed, showing off his new pearly whites, and the before photos.
Delonte West was first drafted to the NBA in 2004. The Boston Celtics selected him with the 24th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. West went on to play eight seasons in the league, balling with the aforementioned team, plus the Seattle SuperSonics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Dallas Mavericks.
