Someone in Florida woke up filthy stinking rich this morning as the winning ticket for Mega Million Jackpot was sold in Neptune Beach!

According to local reports citing Florida Lottery, a Publix grocery store sold the winning ticket. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 13, 19, 20, 32, 33, and the yellow ball 14.

James F. Davis, secretary of the Florida Lottery, said Wednesday that officials don’t yet know who is the lucky person secured the winning ticket. However, he noted that the person has 180 days to present the ticket to lottery officials in Tallahassee in order to receive the big winnings.

“These individuals are going to perhaps contact a lawyer, contact a financial adviser and make sure they get their ducks in a row,” Davis told The Associated Press. “Because as you know when you are a winner you have an opportunity to be able to make such a difference in so many individual lives.”

More On The Winner

The $1.58 billion payout would go to the winner if they opt for an annuity, over a 30 year period. But most winners usually prefer a lump sum option, which for Tuesday’s jackpot was an estimated $783.3 million. As the news site notes, the prize money is subject to federal taxes. The $1.58 billion Mega Millions jackpot, was the largest in the game’s history.

What Are The Chances Of Winning The Lottery?

Mega Millions jackpot winners are so rare thanks to odds of one in 302.6 million. But what are the chances of winning any lottery?

Firstly, it’s important to understand that different lotteries have different odds. Some lotteries have better odds than others, meaning your chances of winning may be higher if you choose to play those particular games. Additionally, the number of tickets sold for each drawing can also affect your chances. The more people who play, the lower your individual odds become.

Another factor to consider is the specific type of lottery game you are playing. Some games require you to match all numbers in a specific order, while others offer additional prizes for matching fewer numbers or matching them in any order. These variations can impact your overall chances of winning.

It’s also worth noting that winning the lottery is purely a game of chance. There is no guaranteed strategy or formula that will guarantee a win. Each ticket has an equal chance of being drawn, regardless of previous outcomes or patterns.

While the odds may not be in your favor when it comes to winning the lottery, it’s important to remember that someone has to win eventually. So why not try your luck and see what happens? After all, as they say: “You can’t win if you don’t play.”
