Florida Teen Receives Acceptance Letters From All 8 Ivy League Schools

In Jacksonville, Florida, one teen has received acceptance letters from 17 schools, including the eight ivy league universities: Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Dartmouth and Cornell.

Craig McFarland, an 18-year-old student at Stanton College Preparatory School, who’s set to graduate as the valedictorian of his class, has never received a “B,”and has secured a 4.98-grade point average throughout his entire high school career. Now that he’s got approvals from the big schools, he’s unsure which university he’ll lock in with; especially, as coronavirus pandemic halts campus visits.

Speaking on the moment he opened his letters, McFarland says, “I was alone with my sister in my room and opened all the Ivy League schools one by one. When I opened Harvard as the last one, my sister and I ran to my dog and danced around.” McFarland, who took French, Spanish and Arabic classes his senior year, affirms, “I’m very much self-motivated and driven.”

Furthermore, other schools who sent acceptance letters include: Duke University; Georgia Institute of Technology; Emory University; and both Florida State University and University of Florida, who offered him full scholarships.
