A Florida man is being accused of allegedly throwing a Christmas tree at his wife after the two got into an argument because the husband was asked to help out with making dinner, authorities said.
Fox News reported, on Monday evening Richard Atchison, 52, apparently “lost his temper” once his wife asked him to help and put a spoon in the sink. In doing so, the wife accidentally smashed Richard with water, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 35 Orlando.

As the argument continued to get more intense, Richard began to pack his things and leave, but once he realized how much “he had been drinking” he went back inside the home and demanded that she leave. When the wife agreed to leave documents read that Richard pushed her and picked up their Christmas tree and threw it at her, striking her.
After striking her from the tree the wife continued to try and leave but Richard reportedly kept blocking the door to keep her inside. Richard was booked on domestic battery charges and taken to the Lake County Jail without incident.
Now this isn’t the first time a wild incident has took place that involved a Christmas tree. Last year a woman reportedly put a raccoon in a headlock after getting attacked while hanging lights on her Christmas tree.
“I thought I was going to die,” said Massachusetts woman Donna Sanginario, said Boston News WHDH.
Sanginario took to Facebook to share her injuries from the attack. The 70-year-old woman detailed that she heard a “strange noise coming from the street.”

“I turned around to see what the noise was and I was staring at a huge raccoon about 10 feet away,” Sanginario added. “Before I could do anything it jumped at me. Worst nightmare of my life. Both me and the raccoon were screaming so loud.”
“As I was screaming for help he fell off my arm but jumped right back on me to continue to attack,” Sanginario continued. “After somehow tumbling to the ground I got him in a headlock and wouldn’t let go. As he was biting me I could hear bones breaking in his neck.”
However, once she let go of the little pest, he got up and walked away. Following an emergency room visit, she got a rabies shot and will now stay protected in the yard.
