#Socialites, this is so sad. An infant girl is left without her parents after a Florida man fatally stabbed his girlfriend after learning she had cheated on him. The man then turned and shot himself as their baby cried in a nearby crib.

Florida Man Fatally Stabbed Girlfriend In Front Of Their Baby After Learning She Cheated On Him, Then He Shot Himself
According to reports, friends of the couple say that 25-year-old Carlos Diaz had been in a “blind rage” for a while after finding out that his girlfriend, 26-year-old Amanda Hicks, had cheated on him.
The friends added that tensions grew even more when Hicks, who was a beloved reading teacher and newly engaged to Diaz, told her fiancé that she’d gotten pregnant.

According to friends, Diaz’s family became suspicious of who the father was, so she soon terminated the pregnancy. However, one lifelong friend of Hicks said, “She said they were working through it. But I think that was an issue among others and he just went into a rage. A blind rage.”
Things came to a head on Friday (May 26), when Diaz turned a gun on himself after he fatally stabbed Hicks in front of their 11-month-old daughter, Alani — who sat crying in her crib at the family’s Port St. Lucie apartment, which they had moved into just three weeks earlier.
Friends also claimed that Diaz met Hicks, who was also an aspiring bikini model, about three years ago while they both worked at a Port St. Lucie school. Friends said the two quickly fell in love, with Hicks raving about being so in love with Diaz, after she’d been in several other “bad relationships with really controlling boyfriends.”
Close friends also claimed that despite the couple having heated arguments, often fueled by alcohol, they thought Diaz was still good for her because “he was the best boyfriend she’d had [and] he treated her very well in public. He was gentle with her, [despite] his temper.”

It was also revealed that Diaz and Hicks both had past issues with drugs, alcohols and minor run-ins with the law prior to forming a relationship and building their lives together. But once they welcomed their daughter, they had begun to clean themselves up.
However, friends said things began to crumble several months ago, when Hicks told Diaz that she had cheated on him, and soon became pregnant. Despite Hicks insisting that the child was Diaz’s, his family was suspicious, so she had an abortion. From there, friends said the relationship continued to deteriorate, with Hicks drinking more and more, and arguments occurring more often.
So, the family decided to move to Port St. Lucie for a fresh start. Friends said while things appeared to be getting better, outside looking in, Diaz actually “wanted full custody of the baby and was going to separate from [Hicks].”

Eventually, on May 26, around 11:50 p.m., police say Diaz repeatedly called an unresponsive family member, and about an hour later, a neighbor reported that they heard loud screaming, but brushed it off as another argument being had in the complex.
Then around 12:47, another neighbor’s Ring camera system caught the sound of a gunshot. However, during the screaming and gunshot noises, there was a thunderstorm with rain and lightning that masked the tragedy.
The following morning, after a relative failed to reach Diaz, a welfare check was conducted by police. With no response at the door, they kicked it down and heard the couple’s infant crying inside, from her crib just a few feet away from her parents.
Police found the mother stabbed to death and her father, several feet away, dead with a gunshot wound, they concluded he shot himself. Since, the infant has been placed with Diaz’s parents.
