A Florida man is permanently banned from Walt Disney World after he was caught camping on Discovery Island.

According to Click Orlando, deputies from the Orange Sheriff’s Office said they were called to 4301 N. World Drive late Thursday after 42-year-old Richard McGuire was spotted in the property. McGuire told the arresting officers that he didn’t hear them when they called out his name because he was sleeping in one of the buildings and called the area a “tropical paradise.”

Discovery Island was an attraction at Walt Disney World until 1999 when the company opened Animal Kingdom. Currently, all Disney parks and areas are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Deputies charged McGuire with trespassing on the posted property and he was ordered to not return to any other Disney World properties.
