Miami authorities finally found an inmate who was mistakenly released on his birthday last week.

Eduardo Cabana,52, was returned to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center last Friday almost a week after he was released “in error” by Miami-Dade Corrections. As reported by MSN, Cabana had several charges which included probation violation, obstruction by a disguised person, and shooting a deadly missile, and criminal mischief.
Criminal records also revealed Cabana faced other charges for armed robbery, burglary, and purchasing cocaine.

An investigation is underway to figure out how Cabana was released from the facility. Before his capture, the MDCR said in a statement asked law enforcement to locate him quickly:
“The priority of the MDCR is apprehending the offender as quickly as possible, and at this time, we have all resources focused on the search. As soon as the error was discovered, the MDCR requested the assistance of our law enforcement partners to assist in locating the offender.”
