Florida Concert Promoter Charges $18 For Vaccinated Customers, $1,000 For Non-Vaccinated

In an interesting effort to get his community vaccinated as live shows return, a Florida concert promoter is charging $18 for vaccinated customers, while the non-vaccinated have to cough up $1,000 — which so far, no one has.

Ahead of an upcoming Punk Rock show at a local venue in Petersburg, Florida, Paul Williams of Leadfoot Productions, knew he couldn’t ban the unvaccinated, so he decided to up his prices for the non-vaxxers trying to attend his events. Williams says, “We’re just trying to do a show safely. And they should go out and get vaccinated to protect themselves and their families and their communities.”

Elsewhere, earlier this month, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill to outlaw vaccination passports in the state. He said, “In Florida, your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected and no business or government entity will be able to deny you services based on your decisions.”
