Dang! Flavor Flav claims he once got slapped in the face by Miley Cyrus for accidentally mistaking her for Gwen Stefani. Before the two shared a heartwarming reunion at the 2024 Grammy Awards, they first once shared an awkward moment.

The Public Enemy rapper recently spoke about the wild incident during an episode of ‘Just B with Bethenny Frankel.’ During the Thursday (February 22) episode, Flav recalled running into Miley Cyrus several years ago, when she and Gwen Stefani rocked similar hairstyles, apparently according to Flav.
Flav said he was excited to meet Stefani and quickly reacted. He explained, “It came from a time that they looked alike. There was a time a few years back when they both had the same exact haircut. That’s the thing that got me. When I ran across my Miley first time ever in my life I was like, ‘Oh my God, Gwen Stefani, Gwen Stefani!’ Miley didn’t say anything she just went along with it.”

The clock-wearing rapper said after Cyrus played it cool, the moment became even more embarrassing when one of his friends brought it to his attention that he just mixed up the two singers. That’s when Flav attempted to apologize to Cyrus, especially since he knew her and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Flav said when he approached Cyrus to issue her an apology that’s when he got hit across the face. He explained, “I turned around and I ran back to her. ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Yo, Miley Cyrus, I know who you are now. Your dad Billy Ray Cyrus. I was like, ‘I’m so stupid.’ Smacked me in the face. She smacked me in the face. Miley Cyrus slapped Flavor Flav in the face and we laughed it off.”
Flav admitted that the wild moment, fortunately, didn’t create any real beef or animosity between the two and that Cyrus just laughed everything off, signaling that the smack was just playful revenge for Flav confusing her with another singer.
As mentioned, Flavor Flav and Miley Cyrus ended up reuniting at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Their interaction was caught on camera and Flav shared it on X (formerly Twitter). He captioned the post, “My girl Gwen Stefani… I mean MILEY CYRUS @MileyCyrus Give My Girl her FLOWERS 💐.”
