Officials with the Provo Police Department reported that a 17-year-old teenage boy was arrested in December for taping fish to ATM machines and other objects. The teen has been accused of executing all of these strange pranks on more than one occasion. Reportedly, the teen pulled the prank over a dozen times from last August through December all across Provo and Orem, Utah.

Taking to his Instagram account, where his bio states, “Live, laugh, tape fish on ATMs,” the teen posted all of the videos of his intentional and international antics. That’s right, some of the Utah teen’s alleged strange pranks reportedly took place overseas as well.

In one video posted to the teen’s Instagram, there was a fish taped to an ATM in Tokyo, in what looks like a subway station. The teen captioned the post, “We’re going international.” In addition to pranks done in Tokyo, other videos showed fishy business going down in Frankfurt, Germany; Guatemala City, Guatemala; and Phoenix, Arizona.

It’s reported that the teen used a variety of fish in his alleged pranks like catfish, carp, bass, bluegill, trout, and crappie. However, reports have not made it clear where the teen got the fish from. In one alleged incident, one taped fish even had a cigarette propped in its mouth. In another alleged incident in November, a trout was taped to a police car in Provo, UT.

Provo Police told FOX 13 News that although the pranks may have seemed innocent, harmless, and fun, the cleanup started to rack up, and eventually the pranks became a crime. Police say, in total, there were between 13 and 14 reports of the fishy business across Provo and Orem, however only two incidents were serious enough to press charges.

Furthermore, being that the accused is a minor, his identity was not made immediately available. However, it is reported that the teen is facing charges that include two misdemeanor counts of causing property damage. It is also reported that the teen was referred to juvenile court and that the case was officially closed.
