Fired Tennessee Cop, Who Was Involved In Department Sex Scandal, Claims She Was 'Sexually Groomed' By Her Superiors

A Tennessee cop who was fired after being involved in a sex scandal in her department has now filed a lawsuit against those inside of the 60-person police department. The former officer alleges that she was “sexually groomed” inside of her “hostile workplace.”

Former La Vergne Police officer Maegan Hall — who was sworn into the department in Tennessee on August 19, 2021 — was fired in January 2023 after an investigation found that she along with, at least, five male officers participated in “Girls Gone Wild” type of parties.

These soirees — which allegedly once happened on a houseboat with a hot tub, and other times on city property — included heavy drinking and having sex both on and off the clock.

Investigators also learned that nude photos of Hall and others were taken and shared. Immediately following the investigation, five officers were fired and three were suspended without pay.

Of those fired were: Hall; plus, former Sgts. Lewis Powell and Henry “Ty” McGowan; Detective Seneca Shields; and Officer Juan Lugo-Perez. Those placed on suspension were Officers: Larry Holloday; Patrick Magliocco; and Gavin Schoeberl.

Since the firings, Hall, the female officer at the center of the scandal, has since admitted to investigators that she did participate in sexual acts with four officers — including two whom were her superiors.

In a new federal lawsuit filed on Monday (February 27) in a  U.S. District Court in Nashville, Hall is now that she was subjected to “sexual grooming” at work.

In her suit, Hall names: the city of La Vergne; former Sgts. Lewis Powell and Henry “Ty” McGowan; plus former Police Chief Burrel “Chip” Davis.

It is reported that Davis was fired in early February after it was discovered that he knew about the happenings and failed to discipline the officers involved.

Hall’s suit alleges that all of the defendants “deprived her of due process.” Hall’s suit also alleges that the defendants “violated federal law against sharing intimate images online and across state lines.”
