“Easter Sunday” dives right into a family that is just like any other, but unlike one we’ve ever seen on the big screen. Koy, who plays Jo Valencia is a Filipino man who is wanting to impress his family with his big-time acting career only to go home for Easter Sunday and find that things are not peachy keen.

Koy and the producers, directors, and writers came together to show the dynamics of this Filipino family while also showcasing something that every person who watches the film can relate to.

Speaking with cast like Haddish, a good friend to Hollywood Unocled, she shared how appreciative she was for Koy to reach out to her to be a part of this film. She shared a story of her and Koys relationship back in the day explaining that she would babysit Koy’s son back when they would improve.

With a cast full of comedians, Director Jay Chandrasekhar who is also in the film shared that they gave the cast the freedom to improv when it came to some scenes which of course came naturally.

This film’s release is definitely one of hopefully many more to come in a way that showcases families that we don’t normally see play out on the big screen with hopes of everyone’s stories being told from various lenses.
