Indianapolis police have reported that FedEx shooter Brandon Hole was previously stripped of his gun but he managed to buy two more weapons legally.

During a press conference on Saturday, officers revealed that the 19-year-old bought the assault weapons back in July and September of last year after he was previously stripped of a gun due to his mental health situation. However, officers did not disclose the model of the gun and its manufacturer. They said the weapon that was removed from Hole was a shotgun after his mother warned police that he would try to commit suicide by cop.
He was sent to a nearby hospital for an evaluation and the shotgun was never returned. Indianapolis Police Chief Randal Taylor said the removal should have blocked the young man from buying more weapons.

Hole’s family released a statement apologizing to the families of the victims and said they were sorry for causing pain within the community.
“Our sincerest and most heartfelt apologies go out to the victims of this senseless tragedy. We are so sorry for the pain and hurt being felt by their families and the entire Indianapolis community.”
