The FBI has opened up another investigation regarding if Trump supporters invaded the Capitol with hopes of holding Congress members hostage and harming them.

Officials reported that dozens of the rioters have already been arrested and they are now looking further into whether the participants plotted to harm or kidnap lawmakers. One man was seen carrying a bag of zipties and several others were overheard planning the public lynching of Vice President Mike Pence. The FBI is also planning to search through social media posts, emails, and cellphones to seek evidence that supports their findings.
The head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office said in a statemenent that those who were involved in criminal activity at the Capitol will expect a knock on their doors. ‘Just because you’ve left the DC region, you can still expect a knock on the door if we find out you were part of criminal activity in the Capitol,’ said Steven M. D’Antuono.

Over 80 rioters have been arrested for their involvement in destroying the Capitol and 55 are facing federal charges.
