Just days after the arrest of OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney, aka Courtney Tailor, the family of her slain Nigerian-American boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli, aka Tobechukwu Obumseli, are demanding a life sentence for her.
OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney Arrested For Murder Of Nigerian-American Boyfriend Christian Obumseli
On Wednesday (August 10,) 26 year old Clenney was arrested in Hawaii, while in rehabilitation for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.
She is expected to be extradited to Miami-Dade County to eventually stand trial for second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
Clenney’s attorney, Frank Prieto, released a statement online and said, “I’m completely shocked, especially since we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged. We look forward to clearing her name in court.”
Clenney’s arrest comes after a four-month investigation launched by Florida prosecutors and officials at the Miami Police Department. During their investigation, officials spoke with family, friends and neighbors.
It’s been said that the couple would argue constantly, and that this wasn’t their first incident of physical fighting. A warrant even said that the couple had a “tempestuous relationship since Nov 2020, with multiple incidents of domestic violence from both sides over the period of the relationship.”
And further proving that point is shocking surveillance footage obtained from their apartment building. It has since gone viral and shows Clenney attacking her boyfriend in an elevator just months before his murder.
The security footage is from February 2022 and shows her hitting he Obumseli, as he tries to keep her calm, and restrain and push her away from attacking him.
On April 3, 2022, Clenney was then accused of murdering Obumseli in their Miami apartment after a domestic dispute. Clenney insisted that she acted out of self-defense when she fatally stabbed her boyfriend, but Obumseli’s relatives never believed her.
Family Of Slain Nigerian-American Christian Obumseli Demand Life Sentence For OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney
Following their initial gut feeling that something was awry and that Clenney may not have been acting in self-defense, Obumseli’s family demands she receive a life sentence.
The family’s attorney, Larry Handfield, says they are happy with her charge — second-degree murder, which can carry a life sentence — and they are putting their faith in the justice system.
Upon learning the news of Clenney being arrested and taken into custody, the family’s attorney said they were relived and super emotional, dissolving into tears.
Meanwhile, Clenney’s attorney, Frank Prieto says, “Although the State Attorney, by law, must consider the wishes of the next of kin a criminal case, those wishes often have to give way to more reasonable minds. While we understand the family is grieving the loss of Mr. Obumseli, and they want justice, justice in this matter will be the acquittal of Courtney on all charges.”
