Evander Holyfield Confirms Mike Tyson Fight ‘Is Gonna Happen’
After nearly a quarter-century after their last infamous fight, Evander Holyfield confirms that a third Mike Tyson fight “is gonna happen.” The third bout would follow the two heavyweight boxing legends’ first clash in 1996 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when Holyfield dominated and won with a TKO in the 11 round; and their 1997 rematch, when Tyson famously bit off Holyfield’s ears, ending with him disqualified int the 3rd round.
Speaking with TMZ Sports, Holyfield reveals that his team has been in contact with Tyson’s camp, and he strongly suggests that the teams are very close to finalizing a deal for a third bout around the ring. Holyfield says, “We’ve definitely had conversations with him, so it looks like it’s gonna happen.” As for his message to Tyson, he simply says, “Let’s do it baby.”
