Elon Musk and Grimes have ended their three-year relationship, citing conflicting work schedules.

Musk confirmed in a statement to Page Six that he and the artist have ended their relationship and plan on co-parenting their son, one-year-old X Æ A-Xii Musk while remaining on friendly terms. The couple started dating in May 2018 and Grimes gave birth to Baby X two years later.
He told the outlet, “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms. It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”

The former couple was last seen together at the 2021 Met Gala but Grimes was photographed alone as Musk met her inside of the museum. He also threw an after-party at the exclusive NYC club Zero Bond where Grimes was also in attendance.
However, Musk was reportedly alone last weekend after attending a party hosted by Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan.
