El Chapo’s Wife Most Likely Cooperating With Feds After Declining Preliminary Hearing
As we previously reported in late February, El Chapo‘s wife Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31, is most likely cooperating with the Feds and will head into witness protection. Another inclination of this has recently surfaced after Coronel apparently declined her preliminary hearing — the court proceeding where prosecutors present evidence to convince a judge that a trial is warranted.
Last month, we shared that ex-DEA officer Mike Vigil believed that 63-year-old Chapo, real name Joaquín Guzmán, most likely advised his wife to cooperate in an avenge attempt against those who crossed him. Further showing evidence toward this, is Coronel, who’s facing drug trafficking charges, now declining a pre-trial hearing.

On Friday (Mar. 19), a one-page document surfaced and it reportedly showed Coronel signing off and agreeing to “waive [her] right to a preliminary hearing under Fed. R. Crim. P. 5.1 or Fed. R. Crim. Page 32.1.” Many attorneys says defendants are usually taking a plea and cooperating with prosecutors when waiving their right to a preliminary hearing. #Socialites, thoughts?
