‘Dreadhead Cowboy’ Arrested After Riding Horse On Chicago Highway In Protest
While he’s known for galloping on his horse throughout the streets of Chicago and protesting, the “Dreadhead Cowboy,” real name Adam Hollingsworth, has now been arrested after riding his horse NuNu nearly 8 miles on a highway in protest for the youth.
The 33-year-old activist took his trusty steed onto the Dan Ryan Expressway in support of the #KidsLivesMatter movement on Monday afternoon. His actions shut down the highway and caused traffic for almost 20 minutes. The initiative, supported by Hollingsworth and fellow supporters escorting him on motorcycles (seen in his Facebook live and news coverage), aims to raise awareness and provide needed services to the youth (mental health, education, social, sports, etc.), combat abuse, and more.

After the lengthy trot down the expressway, which led to local police and state troopers meeting him along his route, Hollingsworth finally exited the highway and was soon taken into custody by Illinois State Police for reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer, and criminal trespass to state-supported property. Meanwhile, NuNu was taken by Chicago Police and transported to Animal Care and Patrol. In a Facebook post, Hollingsworth stated, “All imma say until we focus on Kids lives matter this gone keep happening.”
