A 15-year-old is going above and beyond to get Drake’s attention so he can attend her Sweet Sixteen birthday party at the end of the year.
The parents of Houston teen Miya Garcia bought her a billboard that went up in Jacinto City of I-10 that came with a special invite. “Drake, you’re invited to my Sweet Sixteen,” read the big billboard, which includes an image of Miya on the left side and a photo of Drake on the opposite side. The invite is also signed as being from “your biggest fan.” Speaking to the Houston Chronicle, Miya said, “I explained it to my mom (and) she made it happen for us and I was really surprised. I really loved it.”
Describing the possibility of Drake really showing up, she said it would be a “day to remember forever.” She added, “It would be the best day ever. I hope Drake sees it and we hope he notices.”
Now, although Drake’s a busy man he recently announced that he’s taking a break from music to focus on his health. “I probably won’t make music for a little bit, I’m going to be honest,” he said. “I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” he said earlier this month.
When he finally decides to, it looks like he’ll be making his way to Houston as he also said that he has found a home in the city.
“I finally, finally after all these years, found me a place in Houston, Texas,” he said back in September to the crowd during his Houston concert. “So, y’all will be seeing me around.”
Of course, this is great news for Miya Garcia.
Her big party goes down near the end of the year so it gives Drake a little time to respond to her invitation.

Of course, this is not the first time a fan went all out to grab someone’s attention. Actress Racquel Palmer rented a billboard in Atlanta, declaring herself to be Perry’s next “leading lady”. Years later Palmer was cast as the lead in Perry’s new BET series All the Queen’s. Despite her success, Tyler Perry doesn’t recommend doing such a move.
