Looks like Dr. Umar had a few things to say about the new Spider Man and Little Mermaid movie. While speaking with to fans on live, Dr. Umar expressed how he feels like the two films aren’t representing black love.
“Spider Man across the universe and he’s bunny hopping in the damn trailer I saw on Youtube. How the hell you gone have a black superhero cartoon for our children and he’s lusting and thrusting over the skin milk in the damn trailer, this is insane.” Umar said. “How you gone have a cartoon bunny hopping over the white girl in the cartoon. And then what is Little Mermaid?” He questioned. “They said Little Mermaid is swimming in the milk she is bunny hopping too. Little Mermaid got a snow puppy, this is insane brothers and sisters. We can’t even have a cartoon with black on black love. It’s getting out of control.

He went on to detail how he feels the new spider man movie will play out. “She’s probably going to accuse him of smacking her too. He’s going to get locked up. I’m going to tell you what’s going to happen. She’s going to accuse him of rape and he’s going to go to jail and they’re going to replace him with a white spider man.”
One thing is for sure, Dr. Umar will always be heavily opinionated in his topics, but as we previously reported, The Little Mermaid film raked in $117 million at the US box office for this opening week.
Fans were expecting a lot out of this film, with Halle Bailey starring in it.
Earlier this month, Bailey said she was “honored” to play Ariel in the live action remake, adding she hoped to inspire children of color with the new iteration of the beloved Disney film.

“My hopes for this film are just for people to take away such love and joy and happiness when they leave and especially for all of the Black and brown little… boys and girls to be able to see themselves being represented on such a big scale,” Bailey told Reuters. “I’m just honored to be in this position.”
I love how our little girls are loving The Little Mermaid. They love seeing the representation of a Black girl in a fairytale movie and I do too. I plan to go see it as well.#TheLittleMermaid #BlackGirlMagic #BlackGirls pic.twitter.com/Pw6XkA2VP2
