According to the New York Post, several people were seen looting high-end stores and boutiques. A witness to some of the looting mayhem on Greene Street said the suspects appeared to have a system, where one group would break into the stores while others wait outside in getaway rides. “The looters have been going systemically from store to store,” the witness said. “They had people go in, grab the [items]. Then had people on Revel [scooters] take off. It was hundreds of people,” The Post quotes. Another witness on Twitter said the people looting in SoHo didn’t seem to be the same crowd of people protesting earlier in the day. But instead, random people from out of town that wanted to cause havoc.

In addition to that, a group of 12 people were reportedly arrested by cops outside Nike Soho on Broadway. Several young men were also seen being escorted by police outside of Gucci’s Wooster street location with their hands zip-tied behind their backs. The news site reports that a man was also shot in Soho near Spring and Crosby streets early Monday about at 12:30 a.m. However, it was not immediately clear if the shooting was related to the looting going on in the area.

As we previously reported, Floyd was killed after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pinned him down to the ground and placed his knee on his neck until he lost consciousness. He later died at a local hospital.
