Donald Trump Wins CPAC 2024 GOP Straw Poll & Blames ‘Weak & Dumb’ Biden For Putin’s Invasion Of Ukraine
Who’s ready for Donald Trump to be back in office? Well, he might be a step closer after winning the CPAC 2024 GOP Presidential Nomination Straw Poll in Orlando, Florida today. While there, he also blamed “our dumb” President Biden for Vladimir Putin‘s invasion of Ukraine.
On Sunday (Feb. 27), former President Trump easily won an informal and non-scientific popularity poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). 59% of conservatives in attendance said they’d vote for him if the 2024 Republican primary were held today. Another 28% voted for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo came in third place with 2% of votes.
During his CPAC appearance, Trump also took the time to blast Biden for the nation’s high inflation rates and gas prices, and for letting an unprovoked Russia invade Ukraine. He called it “an outrage and an atrocity.” Trump continued to praise Putin’s intelligence and Biden’s lack thereof. He said, “The real problem is that our leaders are dumb. [Putin] is playing Biden like a drum, and it’s not a pretty thing to watch.” Trump also applauded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling him a “great man.” He added, “We are praying for the proud people of Ukraine.”
