The jury trial, scheduled for April 25,  will involve one of the two civil cases brought against Trump by author E. Jean Carroll. According to Yahoo! News, a judge placed Carroll’s defamation lawsuit against the former president on hold, but the rape allegations against Trump will move forward. Carroll alleged that he raped her in a dressing at a Bergdorf Goodman department store in the mid-1990s.

Trump is expected to testify in court, and his previous comments regarding women will be used against him as evidence. Some of his commentaries were captured on tape and will be played for the jury. Trump has denied the allegations and says he doesn’t know Carroll, claiming she only has a picture of him shaking hands with her husband.

“I don’t know this woman, have no idea who she is, other than it seems she got a picture of me many years ago, with her husband, shaking my hand on a reception line at a celebrity charity event,” Trump said in October, after being ordered by a judge to be deposed in the case. Physically, she’s not my type,”

During the deposition, Trump was shown a photo of him interacting with Carroll, but he mistook her for his first wife, Marla Maples. Other women will also testify against Trump, including Jessica Leeds, who accused Trump of grabbing her breasts and attempting to put his hand up her skirt in 1979 during a flight from Texas to New York. Another woman, People magazine journalist Natasha Stoynoff, will testify about his unwanted sexual advances at Mar-a-Lago in 2005. She was working on a piece about him and his wife Milania.

There have been several allegations of sexual assault and rape made against Donald Trump over the years. The allegations date back to the 1980s and range from unwanted touching and kissing to more serious accusations of rape.

In 2016, during the US Presidential campaign, a video emerged of Trump making lewd comments about women, which led to several women coming forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Trump has denied all of the allegations made against him and has accused the women of lying. He has also suggested that the allegations are politically motivated and part of a smear campaign against him.

It is important to note that the allegations against Trump have not been proven in a court of law, and he has not been charged with any crimes related to them. However, the allegations have raised questions about Trump’s character and suitability for the presidency.

Carroll’s case was moved forward due to New York state law extending the five-year statute of limitations on civil rape cases with the understanding that victims needed more time to come forward.
