After Donald Trump’s historic hush money conviction, Stormy Daniels is breaking her silence, calling for jail time or community service, and Trump tells FOX News that he’s okay with jail time or house arrest.
As we previously shared, on Thursday (May 30), former President Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts over his attempt to conceal $130,000 in hush money paid to former adult star Stormy Daniels. Following the news, Trump said, “Our country has gone to hell. We don’t have the same country anymore.” He later revealed that he and his lawyers will be appealing “this scam.”
Reacting to Trump’s comments, President Joe Biden called them “reckless” and “dangerous.” Stormy Daniels, 45, is now breaking her silence and told The Mirror how “shocked” she was at how quickly the jury found Trump guilty. She added, “I think he should be sentenced to jail and some community service working for the less fortunate or being the volunteer punching bag at a women’s shelter.”
She said she feels Trump, 77, is “completely and utterly out of touch with reality,” adding, “You always feel like you’re the bad guy, even when you’re not just being up on that standard. Being in court was so intimidating with the jurors looking at you, but I’m glad that the stuff came out in court that wanted to come out and prove. I’ve been telling the truth the entire time. It’s not over for me. It’s never going to be over for me. Trump may be guilty, but I still have to live with the legacy.”
When asked what should Trump’s sentencing be, Daniels said, “I don’t know what the sentencing could be or what Trump will even understand. You have to find the punishment that not just matches the crime but is fair and just, and that impacts that particular person. Who knows what that is with Trump.”
Meanwhile, Trump did a weekend interview with FOX News and the possibility of him doing time in jail or on house arrest came up, to which he responded, “I’m OK with that.” He said, “I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, ‘Oh no, you don’t want to do that to the president.’ I said: You don’t beg for anything.”
He added, “I don’t think the public would stand it. I’m not sure the public would stand for it. I think it would be tough for the public to take, you know, at a certain point, there’s a breaking point.” Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan set Trump’s sentencing for 10 a.m. EST on July 11. Trump faces probation or up to 4 years in state prison on each count, with a maximum of 20 years.
