On Monday, Donald Trump returned to X (formally known as Twitter). He shared a campaign video recapping the last eight years and looking ahead to his showdown with Kamala Harris in November.
In an unexpected interview with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk on X Spaces, the former president attacked his rival for the White House on several issues but also appeared to give her somewhat of a compliment…
While reacting to Harris on the cover of TIME magazine, Trump compared the VP’s cover image to his Melania. He said, “She looked very much like our great first lady, Melania,” Trump told Musk as the pair discussed the cover image of Monday’s issue. “She didn’t look like Kamala, but of course, she’s a beautiful woman, so we’ll leave it at that.”
Of course, Trump took a couple of jabs at Harris calling her a “terrible” leader. “We need smart people, and people that have the ability to lead. She doesn’t have that ability. Can you imagine her with chairman Xi [Jinpin, President of the People’s Republic of China],” he said.
“She is terrible, she is terrible,” Trump added. “She’s getting a free ride.”

Harris’s campaign team has since responded to the interview with a scathing statement calling the guys “self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.”
Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to debate with former President Donald Trump. Although Trump wrote on Truth Social that he would debate Harris on Fox News on September 4, with another debate scheduled for September 10 on ABC, a Harris campaign aide told Newsweek in an email:
“We’re pleased Trump finally agreed to debate the vice president on ABC after previously trying to back out. We are open to another debate, and we’ll continue those conversations. But to be clear, any additional debate would be subject to Trump actually showing up on September 10. We’re not playing his games.”
