A marriage proposal turned sour when a Disney employee decided to ruin the moment

The video clip made its rounds on social media this week when a man went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend on one of the stages at Disneyland Paris. However, the magical moment was interrupted when a male employee approached them and grabbed the ring box. Seconds later, he escorted the couple off of the stage. According to Metro UK, the video was recorded by the man’s best friend and they uploaded the clip on their social media with the caption: ‘POS destroyed my best friend’s moment. He asked for permission beforehand.’

Prior to the proposal, Reddit user @wesghetlan explained that his friend asked one of the park employees for permission but the other employee ran up the stage and suddenly grabbed the ring. Disney has apologized for the employee’s behavior and said they will make things right for the couple.

‘We regret how this was handled. We have apologized to the couple involved and offered to make it right.’

The viral marriage proposal has led social media users to call the Disneyland employee evil and other nicknames for ruining the moment.

Dozens of social media users created various scenarios of what they would do in the situation if someone approached them and snatched their engagement ring. “If a Disneyland employee stopped my proposal that’s one thing, if the Mf grabbed the ring out of my hands he’d be hospitalized,” one user said. Another Twitter user wrote, imagine paying $200 just for an interrupted ruined proposal at Disneyland. this makes me wanna cancel my disney+”

Others joked how Disney is very strict about their theme parks and wouldn’t “allow” special moments on their stages without a lump sum payment.
