Diddy Ain’t Coming Home Anytime Soon — Unless Trump Says So
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ official prison release date just dropped and unless Donald Trump decides to play savior, the Bad Boy mogul won’t be walking free until May 8, 2028.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, that’s when his 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act wraps up. That’s federal time, meaning no parole… just good behavior credits. Since Diddy’s been locked up since September 2024, the feds already did the math, factoring in that he can serve about 85% of his time if he keeps his head down and stays out of trouble.
As we previously reported, Diddy was slapped with a pretty long sentence: 50 months (4 years, 2 months) in prison for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He also received five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. The sentence comes after he was acquitted of more serious charges, such as sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, in an earlier trial.
Now here’s where it gets wild. Diddy’s been trying to get a pardon from President Donald Trump and Trump himself confirmed it. When reporters asked him earlier this month about possibly pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, Trump said:
“I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons,” said Trump. “I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon.”
TMZ also came through with a report saying Trump was thinking about commuting Diddy’s sentence. Their sources said Trump was “vacillating” — basically going back and forth — while some folks in the White House told him not to touch it. But one insider added, “Trump will do what he wants.”
When the story blew up, the White House denied the whole thing. TMZ didn’t fold though they doubled down and stood by their report.
So unless something major shifts in Diddy’s favor, the calendar’s set. May 2028 is when he can expect to walk out.
For now, it’s Diddy versus the feds, with Trump sitting on the only real key. Whether the President pulls a surprise move or lets the clock run out, the world will be watching.
