Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson issued a public apology for the very first time.

In an interview with Cleveland News 5 on Friday, the NFL player, 26, publicly made an effort to make amends to the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct during massage sessions.

“I want to say that I’m truly sorry to all the women I’ve impacted in this situation,” Watson said in the pregame show interview with the outlet. “The decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position, I would definitely like to have back,” he added, “but I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character and I want to keep pushing forward.”

As we previously reported, Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing all of the women who have filed lawsuits against Watson, released a statement addressing the all lawsuits.

“We have been referred a very compelling case by a respected lawyer from Atlanta. We expect to file that case in due course. And, we have been contacted by another victim who saw the HBO special and was compelled to come forward. We have vetted other calls but haven’t yet made decisions on any further filings beyond that and will continue to do our due diligence consistent with our ethical obligations. With regard to any impending filings, we will allow the facts of the particular cases to speak for themselves.”

Watson recently played in his first preseason game and fans gave the player a hard time once he walked the field. The Quarterback was welcome with a lot boo’s and we’re not sure if that played a part in his performance, but he only one pass in three drives that gave him a total of 7 yards. Watson’s suspension doesn’t count the preseason, and the NFL hadn’t ruled on its appeal before kickoff on Friday. Watson will be eligible to play in the preseason at least until that appeal is finished.
