Demi Lovato has completed another stint in rehab three years after suffering from a drug overdose.

The singer revealed to fans in December that they will be taking a break after learning that being “California sober” was not working for them. In an Instagram post, Lovato wrote the following: “I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways. Sober sober is the only way to be.” Weeks later, Lovato premiered their new shaved haircut and fans indicated it was a “brand new start.”

This is not the first time Lovato has documented their journey with battling sobriety. As reported by Page Six, Lovato said they didn’t want to be “completely sober” after surviving the near-fatal drug overdose during an interview with Glamour Magazine.

“I called [my recovery case manager, Charles Cook] and was like, ‘Something’s not right. I’m living one side of my life completely legalizing and this other side following a program that’s telling me if I slip up, I’m going to die,’ “A one-size-fits-all solution does not work for everybody…..What I’m encouraging people to do is just make choices for themselves. Autonomy, for me, is what changed my life.”
