Haitian-American actor Da’Vinchi is going viral after claiming Americans have been “lazy” and “incompetent for a really long time.” Da’Vinchi, born Abraham D. Juste, is also weighing in on the controversial belief of Caribbean-Americans being “better” than Black Americans.
While appearing on Cam Newton’s ‘Funky Friday’ podcast, Da’Vinchi shared his controversial claims. During the October 2 episode, the ‘BMF’ actor spoke about the hit show, working with Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., plus the end of the series. But before revealing why the show ended, Da’Vinchi explained why he believes British actors (and other overseas talent) are landing so many American roles. He explained his belief in Americans being “lazy” with low work ethic and seemingly clout-driven.
Da’Vinchi said the work ethic of Americans makes those in power not want to trust them. He claimed the current generation is showing “humans becoming more incompetent.” He continued to claim that “American is like producing—like, we baby our kids in a way that is unheard of. You got people that are 25, 30—they are like kids and can’t do their own laundry. They can’t wipe their own a**.”
Da’Vinchi Weighs In On Controversy Claiming Caribbean-Americans Think They’re Better Than Black Americans
Da’Vinchi said he was born in America, making him first-generation, the first in his family to be born in the United States. He said his parents and grandparents are from Haiti. His grandmother raised him in their American home. So, for him, at home was Haiti, and when he walked outside, it was America.
After sharing his thoughts on the incompetency of Americans, Da’Vinchi later weighed in on another controversial claim. Newton asked him what he thought about Black Americans believing Black people from the diaspora (Caribbean-Americans, European-Americans, African-Americans, etc.) think they’re better than those native to America. He agreed to it being true, but clarified that it isn’t right.
