Daphne Reid On Why She Refused To Shake Donald Trump’s Hand During “Fresh Prince” Episode: “I Didn’t Like Him”
There’s been a lot of memorable moments from the classic sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” While speaking on the podcast, “You Might Know Her From,” — Daphne Reid, who played “Aunt Viv” looked back on the special episode starring President Donald Trump.

During the conversation, host Anne Rodeman pointed out: “He who shall not be named had a guest spot on season 4. He and Marla were going to buy the Banks house. And upon watching this episode, I noticed that Phil shook his hand but Viv did not can you please explain that choice?,” MadameNoir quotes.
Reid, 72, simply replied: “I didn’t like him. I had news from New York. I knew who he was.” “It was so wonderful. I was like, ‘Is she going to?’ Oh, she’s not going to [shake his hand.] And when he leaves, you’re like ready to kick his a$$. It was so good,” Anne said. Reid then confirmed, “Yeah! And it was so true.”
HBO Max finally aired the “Fresh Prince” reunion special where we get to see the cast all together for the first time in over 20 years. Longtime fans also get to watch the heartwarming moment Reid finally meets the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert for the first time, who ends her feud with former co-star Will Smith.
