The 78th Golden Globes opened up the Hollywood awards season with some major highs and lows, but we got to talk to some of the night’s winners.
This year, there was a clear concern for the lack of diversity not only in the animations, but on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association board as not one of the boards 90 members are black.
Now despite the lack of diversity, a number of black actors and actresses managed to snag some big-time awards. This included The first two awards of the night. The first went to Daniel Kaluuya who won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Judas And The Black Messiah. While the second went to John Boyega who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in amazon primes Small Axe

The late Chadwick Boseman won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which his wife accepted the award on his behalf sharing teaful and heartfelt words she thought he would have said.
In her acting debut Andra Day won Best Actress in a Motion Picture-Drama for The United States v. Billie Holiday and soul snagged two awards taking home the Best Original Score-Motion Picture and Best Motion Picture-Animated.
While we didn’t get to talk with everyone, we did speak with Daniel, Aaron Sorkin the director and writer of the Golden Globe winning film ‘Trial Of The Chicago 7′ and William Horberg, the executive producer of the golden globe winning Netflix series “The Queens Gambit.’
