China Makes COVID-19 Anal Swabs Mandatory For Foreign Travelers

China is on a whole new level of COVID control and has implemented mandatory anal swab testing for all foreign travelers coming into the country.

The Times UK reports that the Chinese believe that the anal swabs are much more reliable and accurate than other tests that determine if the virus is present.

The Director of the respiratory disease department of Beijing You An Hospital Li Tongzeng revealed that traces of the virus remain in the anus longer than the respiratory system.

“If we add anal swab testing, it can raise our rate of identifying infected patients.”

The testing will be in hubs at all Beijing and Shanghai airports.

However, the new testing has not had the best reaction, with the U.S and Japanese travelers experiencing mental anguish and psychological pain from the tests.

As of now, China has agreed to put a stop to the testing on U.S diplomats after receiving complaints from Joe Biden’s cabinet.

“The State Department never agreed to this kind of testing and protested directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when we learned that some staff was subject to it,” a spokesperson said.
