Country Singer Chase Rice Under Fire After Hosting Packed Tennessee Concert Amid Pandemic
As coronavirus cases continue to spike across the nation, including Tennessee, Country singer Chase Rice is catching major heat after hosting a concert this weekend in Petros, packed with thousands of fans amid the growing pandemic.
While making his return to the stage since COVID-19 hit, the musician posted a video to his Instagram story, captioned, “We back [emoji with sunglasses],” showing him performing in front of 4,000 attendees, who were all packed tight, and many without any face coverings.

Subsequent to the uploaded videos, fans and even fellow country singers criticized Rice for putting “thousands of people’s health at risk.” Country songstress Kelsea Ballerini tweeted, “Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now. @ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait.”
