Shocking surveillance video caught the moment an officer collapsed and almost overdosed after coming into contact with an evidence package contaminated with Fenatyl.

The Oklahoma officer was wearing surgical gloves while packing up evidence at Bartlesville Police Department when he suddenly loses consciousness and collapses. A fellow officer can then be seen rushing to his side and administering Narcan, which ended up saving his life, and they were lucky to have it on hand.

“Becoming ill, light-headed, and basically passed out… I don’t know what would have happened had they not acted so quickly,” Sergeant Jim Warring told CBS17.

“It’s really fortunate that, one, we had this available to us, and two, that our officers really inherited the training and paid attention to the training.”

“Even though the officer may not be physically dealing with an individual, all the evidence and things that we handle on a day-to-day basis, that can harm you, too,” Warring added.

Police revealed that another officer was potentially  exposed to fentanyl as well and he was sent to the hospital for treatment as well.

Fenatyl can often be mixed with Cocaine, Heroin, or used alongside other drugs as an anesthetic. Overdosing is an extremely high risk as the drug is 100 times stronger than morphine!
