Congratulations! As former NBA player Delonte West prepares to celebrate 11 months sober, he has announced that he’s getting married to his on/off girlfriend of 20 years, Melissa Anaya.

As we previously shared last month, West celebrated 10 months of sobriety as of September 25. Ahead of his anniversary, he got a new set of teeth.
As we reported West’s milestone, we shared that back on March 25, 2026, he confirmed his sobriety journey. It arrived after a January 8, 2026 report claimed he was 30 days sober. In a video, he announced that he was 100 days sober. The former NBA guard’s sobriety followed a string of arrests and viral videos shared by concerned bystanders, , dating back to at least 2019. In the video, West said:
“We out here in Florida. Uber just pulled up. Cadillac. We out here with Wellness Fitness & Performance. They got me right and tight. Today, I’m 100 days sober.”

As West regains control of his life, getting new teeth, brand deals, and more, he is now reveling that he’s getting married! Ahead of his 11-month sober-versary, West took to his Instagram on Thursday (October 15).
He shared a photo of him and Anaya. Over the picture, it read, “It’s been 20 yrs. We getting married today!!!” West nor Anaya have shared any photos showing off any rings. However, he did share another post of them about an hour later. It was a video of the two driving and jamming to music while loving on each other.
Before his announcement, West did share a video of him picking up Anaya from the airport in Miami. He said it had been 20 years since they saw each other, but that they’ve been communicating online for some time. He also said it had been a while since feeling a woman’s touch.
