PEOPLE magazine has crowned “Captain America” actor Chris Evans as the Sexiest Man Alive in their latest cover story, hitting newsstands on Friday. The announcement was shared on Monday night during a taping for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” where Chris appeared remotely to accept the honor since he was caught up in production for his upcoming movie, “Red One.”
The 41-year-old follows in the footsteps of Paul Rudd, Idris Elba, Channing Tatum, John Legend, Adam Levine, and Dwayne Johnson, who’ve all previously been awarded the title, and says his mom will be “so happy” to find out the news. In his interview with the publication, he expressed, “She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about.”

“This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about,” Chris laughed. “It feels like a weird form of humble bragging. Really this will just be a point of bullying. It’s ripe for harassment.”
Now that he’s in his 40s, Chris says his priorities and how he viewed himself have drastically changed, having opted to spend more of his time back home with his family in Boston, while explaining how finding the perfect balance between work and personal time has been crucial to him.
While he’s arguably one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, the Massachusetts native added that he’s moved past the stage in his career where he’s living out of a suitcase for the duration of filming a movie.
“When it comes to seeking out the people I play it’s more of an issue of where the movie shoots,” he explained. “I’m too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months and I’ve settled into a nicer phase where I’m just happy being at home.”
And with his personal life having become his priority in recent years, Chris also wants to focus his attention on potentially settling down and getting married in the near future, as well as welcoming kids of his own. “That’s absolutely something I want,” he admitted. “Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends.”

Chris has three projects in the pipeline, including “Pain Hustlers,” which has already entered post-production, and “Ghosted.” He’s currently filming his upcoming film with Dwayne Johnson, titled “Red Ones,” which is slated for a release sometime in 2023.
