A Los Angeles court has ordered Chris Brown to settle $1.76M debt from a Popeyes Chicken franchise investment. According to multiple outlets, the R&B singer took out a loan to purchase Popeyes Chicken franchises and now the court has ordered him to settle the outstanding debt.
BNN reports that Chris Brown must pay $1,760,654.11 due to a lawsuit from City National Bank (CNB) in Georgia, which accused Brown and associates of failing to honor their financial commitments tied to the Popeyes franchise investment. The report also states that the ‘No Guidance’ singer has 30 days to respond or face the judgement. If the singer chooses to not respond to the judgement he could possibly face some serious consequences.
If Brown refuses to address the debt within the 30-day timeframe, he risks having his property, money, and wages seized to satisfy the debt owed to City National Bank. “This court may order that a writ of execution or other enforcement may issue. Your wages, money, and property could be taken without further warning from the court,” the filing read. “If enforcement procedures have already been issued, the property levied on will not be distributed until 30 days after you are served with this notice.”
