Chinese Man Sentenced To 6 Months In Prison For Scaring His Neighbor’s 1,100 Chickens To Death In Revenge Scheme
On Tuesday (April 4), Gu was sentenced to prison for creeping into his neighbor’s yard, in the Hunan province, and killing thousands of his chickens.
According to ‘China Daily,’ Gu trespassed twice and in the second incident, he used a flashlight to terrify the clucking chickens, which eventually lead to extreme chaos among the birds.

The incident sent them into a panic, and resulted in them flocking and crowding into a corner of their coop, where they trampled over one another, trying to escape.
The chaotic event ultimately caused the birds to kill one another. As mentioned, it is reported by local authorities that this was not the first time that Gu had trespassed onto his neighbor’s property.

Apparently, the first time Gu decided to cross over his property line, 500 chickens died after being trampled to death. Local police officials eventually caught Gu and ordered him to pay his neighbor, only identified as Zhong, 3,000 yuan (aka $436 USD) — however, this only further enraged Gu and sent him into another frenzy.
So, he returned to Zhong’s yard a second time and killed hundreds more chickens with the flashlight incident. Authorities say a total of 1,100 chickens were killed between the two massacres.
It is also reported that the two incidents were a part of bigger revenge scheme, stemming from an ongoing feud between the two neighbors.

It is reported that things all began back in April 2022 when Gu chopped down some of Zhong’s trees without his permission.
A court in Hengyang eventually ruled that Gu “intentionally caused property loss” to Zhong, leaving him with a loss of 13,840 yuan (aka $2,015 USD).
Since all of these wild events, Gu has been sentenced to six months in prison, and once he is released, he will then have to serve a full year on probation.
